At OSPA, students grow through drama, dance, music and theater in a warm, safe space where they can be themselves. From their first class to the excitement of a full stage production, we encourage students to discover their voice, explore their creativity and shine in their own unique way.
Learn character development, storytelling, improvisation, movement and stage presence while building confidence and communication skills. Students also explore scripts, teamwork, creativity and how to prepare and perform on stage while discovering the joy of bringing a character to life.
Explore movement, rhythm, technique and choreography while growing confidence, coordination and musicality. Students develop strength, creativity and self-expression in a fun, supportive space where they can move, grow and shine.
Develop your singing voice through vocal technique, breathing, pitch, rhythm, musical expression and vocal control. Students explore how to use their voice for theater, including projection, character work, emotion and performing confidently on stage.
The OSPA Class Package brings drama, dance, music and voice together in one creative journey. When you join classes, you join the full package and grow across every part of the stage.
An intensive 7 day dance camp where dancers come together, train, create and perform! Learn 8 unique choreographies from different choreographers, push your skills and bring your energy to the screen as you star in our MLDC video clips.

At On Stage Performing Arts (OSPA), we believe every person has a voice, a story and something special to share. Through drama, dance and music, we create a space where they can be themselves, be heard, discover their strengths and grow with confidence and joy.
For students ages 6 and up, OSPA offers an inspiring performing arts journey. In class, students are guided to explore their creativity while building important life skills such as confidence, discipline, communication and teamwork.
Every year, our students come together to create original theater productions where they experience the magic of bringing stories to the stage.
OSPA was founded in 2007 by Helen Kamperveen under the name Jeugdtheatershool On Stage. In 2015, Joelle Chiu Hung and Rodney Martodrono took over the school, marking the beginning of a new chapter as On Stage Performing Arts, carrying forward its passion for nurturing young talent while shaping a new vision for the future.
Over the years, OSPA has grown into a home for many young talents, supporting them as they take their first steps and continue their journey in performing arts. We are proud that several of our former students have gone on to study in the Netherlands at respected art institutions such as Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU), Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kuntsten (AHK), ArtEZ University of the Arts in Zwolle, and PACT+ Amsterdam.
Seeing our students grow and follow their dreams is one of our greatest joys but even more meaningful is watching them grow into amazing individuals.
At OSPA, it is not only about learning choreography, singing the right note or performing a role, it is about connection, courage, creativity, personal growth and passion.
We believe everyone deserves a place where they can explore freely, make mistakes without fear, never give up and feel supported every step of the way. A place where they can discover their strengths, build friendships and learn to trust their own voice.
For many years, we have proudly stood for culture, talent and development in Suriname, creating opportunities for the next generation and believing deeply in the power of the arts to shape expressive, inspiring and empowering artists of all ages.

Being part of On Stage Performing Arts has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life.
